About TLS
Introduction
The Listening Service is a not for profit organisation
which provides a pioneering faith and culturally sensitive
service to women in the UK. It was founded by Neelam

Our core service is a free and confidential listening
service available nationally via the telephone. The
service uses female volunteers trained in active listening
and basic listening skills to respond to client calls. By
omitting the gender gap and the cultural restrictions of
other services, we are able to build the trust of these
women and deal effectively with the social pressures
that they face from their varying communities.

confidentiality of the client and to offer a flexible client
centred service, placing primary emphasis on the needs
of the woman.
