Talk to Someone

Realising things are not as good as they could be is a
first step to doing something about it.

The Listening Service (TLS) provides a confidential and
non-judgemental support service for women who need
it.  We do not offer advice, rather we look to explore
your feelings by giving the time and space that you
require to consider the options you have.

Whatever you're going through, whether it's big or
small, don't bottle it up.  Maybe you feel anxious,
stressed out, depressed.  Maybe you’ve suffered a
bereavement or have been struggling with your
relationships.  TLS is here to provide a listening ear.
We hope that by providing a service where you can
simply share your thoughts, you will be able to build
inner strength and confidence to more forward in
your life.

We are here for you if you're worried about something,
feel upset or confused, or just want to talk to someone.

We’re open Mondays to Wednesdays between
9am and 1pm.

We receive calls from women of all backgrounds and
ages.  The reasons for these calls are often similar, for
example:

Ÿ
Family problems
Ÿ
Cultural pressures
Ÿ
Stress due to being overworked
Ÿ
Financial problems
Ÿ
Body image concerns
Ÿ
General anxiety
Ÿ
Health concerns

Sometimes speaking on the telephone is not enough.
The Listening Service can provide details of counsellors
who are able to support you further through face to
face counselling - just ask our listener when you call.
Our Promise to You

We will not trace your call
and you are not required to
reveal your name.  The call
will last as long as you want
it to.
